Many people ask what it looks like where we live, and I so often think that I take this quaint village for granted.
Take a look, and tell me what you think...

Dena,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this over at Memories by the Mile. How beautiful, I would love see your neck of the woods some day. My favorite are the castles.

It's pretty amazing to live so near the castles. I so wish that my kids appreciated it...Oh well, maybe they will get it one day! Thanks for stopping by
ReplyDeleteI nearly fell from my chair when I opened this post.
ReplyDeleteI grew up im Kaiserswerth in the 1970ies.
That soup window then was owned by an old lady selling all kinds of sweets an candy. It was our first stop after school.
Thanks for bringing back those memories!
Tom
No way! Were you born in Germany? Where do you live now?
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Yes, I was born here (I'm German). I now live just one village to the north of Kaiserswerth, with several stations in between over the years.
DeleteIt was just a big surprise clicking more or less randomly on a blog on the expat-blog site and beeing presented with those pictures.
I hope you feel at home in Kaiserswerth just like I did!
Tom
We do, it's a great place to live.
DeleteIt is just beautiful! I love all of the greenery! And the soup window sounds delightful!
ReplyDeleteYou are more than welcome to come have a bowl of soup with us, anytime!!
DeleteIt looks lovely! Especially the castle, and the little kiosk, or whatever you call them in English (first picture).
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Susanne-It's pretty nice to have castle ruins in your neighborhood! Fun for the kids

ReplyDeleteWe do live in a pretty cool place. I often think how I wish the boys realized how lucky they are....some day. Your pictures capture it so well. It all looks so green, too:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Amity! They will realize it when they are about 30 and think back on it fondly!
