If you could have anything...

There it is, one of the suitcases that came back from the U.S. with me!  And right on top is the coveted prize...the magazine.  Oh, there wasn't just one magazine in that suitcase, there were about 20!  As the matter of fact the night before I came home I informed my husband that I planned on spending "a thousand" dollars on magazines before I came home.  Okay, I said "a thousand" but obviously didn't really spend that much!
Magazines are the one thing that I STILL bring home from my trips home, thus bringing us to today's question;

What is the one thing that you still can't live without from your home country or that one thing that you have to have when leaving home?

  1. I made sure that I had US deodorant in my suitcase. I don't know what was the problem but me and German deo did not work well together!

  3. Hi Dena,

    So nice to meet you!

    I could have written this post! Let me explain: 20 years ago, when there were NO BLOGS on the face of the earth, and international flights allowed for 2 suitcases, one of mine was devoted COMPLETELY to my home decorating magazines!! They are quite heavy, as you can attest to, but they were worth it! Now, I rarely buy magazines as I get my daily fix with all the BEAUTIFUL blogs out here in cyberspace, and thus, have space in my ONE suitcase for other ESSENTIALS!

  6. When we came home we packed an awful lot of maple syrup so that I have it on hand anytime I make crepes, pancakes, waffles, and just on vanilla ice cream. It comforts me to have it. ha~! ha~! I always pick up a few magazines too.
