It's like it's my Birthday...

People magazine was in my mail this afternoon.  I don't care that it's a month or two old.  It's like a Birthday present, a wonderful Birthday present.  I tear into the envelope like a ten year old opening the first present at the party.  You see, I feel fairly cut off from the trash news in the U.S.  We don't get American TV and buying a People magazine in Germany would cost about $14, and at this point I don't need it that badly...not yet anyway.

Why you say, do you not subscribe to People online.  Because, it is like a little present once every few weeks.  I love it when I see this manila envelope in my mail.  Forget the U.S. condo bills that are tucked inside, I simply toss those aside until I get finished with the bible of celebrity gossip.  I am all about the trash, for it is here that I get to learn that Jennifer has "no regrets", that Jen Aniston has "really and truly met the love of her life!" And I have been introduced to Honey Boo Boo Child and her hillbilly-that's one word right?-mom, June.  Life would not have been the same had I not learned of this crazy-ass show!  Thank you People magazine for keeping me up on my celebrity gossip and making me feel a bit more like I am home when I curl up to read that Kim Kardashian has "cut her bangs!"

  1. Hey, first-time commenter! I completely relate! For my birthday, my friends sent me a box of goodies, but the best thing was the trashy US Weekly mag. The white cheddar popcorn I ate as I read it was a close second!

  4. Haha I am the same way! I'm always watching reality TV like the Kardashians and Real Housewives over here. When my husband asks me how I can stand that stuff, I tell him it keeps me connected to the good ol' USA!
